The Secret to World-Class Perfect Bound Book Covers

If you produce perfect bound books, remember, they will indeed be judged by their covers. Your text could look like a million bucks but if the spines are cracked, or the hinges don't work, or it's crooked, you're fighting an uphill battle before the customer ever looks inside.

You can eliminate fiber cracking, speed up production and get quality control over your book covers with the Spine & Hinge Creaser, and do it any of 3 easy ways:
  1. On your folding machine
  2. On your Rollem or with our Speedcreaser or TurboCreaser52 stand-alone machines
  3. On your Muller or Kolbus perfect binding line

6 Steps to World-Class Production with the Spine & Hinge Creaser
  • Crease from 1 to 4 lines simultaneously
  • Crease on the same side, or on opposite sides of the sheet
  • Vary the spine and/or hinge width as needed
  • Eliminate fiber cracking
  • Eliminate outsourcing of scored covers
  • Help you to deliver jobs faster
How Do We Do This?

Taking the patented Tri-Creaser technology, we've designed several devices to fit various equipment that covers almost any type of perfect binding operation.

On Folding Machines...
Slide the Spine & Hinge Creaser on to the slitter shafts, close the fold plates, and you instantly begin producing creased, perfect bound book covers--with 2 spine and 2 hinge creases--at folding machine speeds.  Then take the covers to your perfect binder.

We currently have devices available to fit Stahl 25 or 35mm shafts, MBO 30 or 35mm shafts and GUK 35mm machines.

On Scoring Machines...
Available to fit Rollem scoring machines (as shown in photo at left.) Or if you have the perfect binder but no creasing machine, our Speedcreaser and TurboCreaser52 are two standalone creasing units that will handle any volume of perfect bound book covers.

On Perfect Binding Lines...
Our most versatile device ever is available to fit Muller Normbinder, Starbinder, Corona, Amigo, and Acoro with 4-shaft cover feeder systems.

Split creasing ribs mean that you never have to pull shafts to change creasing ribs. Selection of 3 male creasing ribs can be changed in less than a minute. The female channel width is infinitely variable--you can adjust the channel width to accommodate any paper weight--there is no minimum or maximum.

This extra leverage is especially useful for stocks with UV coatings, laminations or digital sheets, where fine tuning the female channel width by a couple thousandths of an inch can make all the difference.

A Spine & Hinge Creaser is also available to fit most Muller 2-shaft cover feeder systems, found on their smaller systems such as the Muller Panda.

Running a Kolbus 470 or Kolbus with 26mm shafts?
We have a Spine & Hinge Creaser for that as well.
